At Academy Bandages we understand the different garments and supplies needed for the treatment and management of lymphedema can be overwhelming for a person with the diagnosis.

Often there are other health issues to consider as well, and we see our role as providing you with a top selection of options in everything you need. When you are shopping for lymphedema compression sleeves, we have several suggestions that can make the process easier.

Talk to Your CLT

One of the most important recommendations we make to our new customers is to talk to your Certified Lymphedema Therapist before making a purchase. It is essential to choose the right fit as well as the right class of arm sleeve.

There are three different compression classes, CCI, CCII and CCIII which range from low compression to extra firm compression. There is also a compression sleeve available offering less compression than CCI, and this is offered as 15-20mm/Hg support garment.

Professional Fitting

Depending on the brand and the type of lymphedema compression sleeves you will find different sizing options available through our website. Some companies sell their products on a small, medium and large sizing option while others may have numbers to represent sizes.

Each different sleeve we sell will display the manufacturer’s sizing chart just above the selection box. Compare your actual measurements from the fitting with the sizes to determine which size is right for you.

You will typically need to know your palm, wrist, upper mid-arm and length measurements, but this will depend on the brand and style as well.

Special Considerations

While most of our lymphedema compression sleeves are latex free, if you have a latex allergy be sure to read the information provided by the manufacturer on our site. If you have any questions or if you aren’t sure, we can provide the help you need if you drop us an email or give us a call.

We also recommend you talk to your CLT about the need for a gauntlet or a glove. For most patients, this is important to prevent fluid build-up in the hands when wearing the sleeve, and a gauntlet or glove is specially designed to provide this support.

We are also proud to offer the Lymphedivas line of compression sleeves and matching gauntlets, offering a touch of style and pizzazz and a very popular choice with all our customers.
