Botox has become increasingly popular among men and women of all ages. We see great results on television, however, there is not much information given about the process itself. If you’re looking for Botox in Fayetteville, here is the list of preparations you must make for your upcoming appointment.

The main thing to note, of course, is that for the most part, Botox is a procedure that doesn’t require much preparation. As long as you’re keeping to official medical channels, and using a trained professional, everything should be taken care of for you as soon as you walk in the door on the day of your appointment. The only thing you really need to worry about is bruising from the injection, which can be caused by the following easily avoidable examples.

Preparation #1. Avoid Aspirin or Aspirin Products

You’re taking a Botox injection in order to look more beautiful, so it’d be a shame if there were this ugly bruise afterwards from the injection. A good way to prevent this is to avoid any medicinal product that contains aspirin, like Ibuprofen. Taking these mediations right before you’re to receive your injection will increase the risk of forming a bruise.

Preparation #2. Avoid blood thinning medication and smoking

Going off of #1, another medication you should avoid using is any that thins your blood. Thin blood means weaker skin, and weaker skin more easily bruises. These include Plavix and Warfarin, among many others. Finally, avoid smoking if at all possible, as this can weaken your skin’s condition and add to your risk of bruising.

Preparation #3. Inform your doctor of relevant pre-existing conditions

Before the procedure, your doctor will perform a basic physical examination to determine if you are safe for an injection. Please inform your doctor about any pre-existing medical condition relevant to your skin. These mainly include muscle weakness, difficulties with swallowing, speaking or breathing. However you should inform your doctor of any and all pre-existing skin conditions, so they can determine if they will complicate the procedure. Better safe than sorry, after all.

A Botox injection is for the most part a completely harmless procedure. You make the appointment, you come in on time, you receive the injection, and then you go on your merry and much more beautiful way. But that doesn’t mean you should throw caution to the wind, so remember these preparations when you plan to Botox injection .
